Scope of application
This data protection information applies to the Verwaltungsportal Hessen website and to the personal data collected via this website. For websites of other providers to which reference is made, e.g. via links, the data protection notices and declarations there apply.

The website is hosted by the Hessian Centre for Data Processing (www.hzd.hessen.de) as a technical service provider on our behalf and in accordance with our specifications.
Handling of your data
1. personal data
According to Art. 4 GDPR, personal data is any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. An identifiable natural person is one who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name, an identification number, location data, an online identifier or to one or more factors specific to the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social identity of that natural person.
2. portal network
You can use the Verwaltungsportal Hessen website to find out about and search for electronically accessible administrative services on the connected administrative portals of the Online Gateway portal network.
Further digital services such as application procedures, service accounts or websites can be found via the Verwaltungsportal Hessen website. The analysis of the personal data processed in the context of these offers is not part of this data protection declaration.
3. contact form
If you provide us with personal data as part of an enquiry via our contact form, we will use this data to fulfil our tasks exclusively for the purpose for which you provide us with this data, in particular to answer your questions. The data will be stored at the Hessian Centre for Data Processing and will only be used by the responsible persons to process your enquiry.
In order to answer your questions, it may be necessary, depending on the circumstances, to forward your personal data to other bodies within the state administration or to federal or local authorities. If you do not agree to this, please be sure to let us know by ticking the appropriate option box in our online form.
If the Hessian Ministry for Digitalisation and Innovation is not responsible for your request, we will forward your submission to the responsible body and inform you that your submission has been forwarded to the responsible body.
After final processing of your request, the data will be deleted or, in the case of file-relevant processes, stored in accordance with the retention periods specified in the applicable decree on file management in the offices of the State of Hesse. This period is generally 5 years.
4. data protection NFK
The Hessian Ministry for Digitalisation and Innovation informs you here about the processing of personal data when using the Hesse Administration Portal and the National Feedback Component (NFK)Personal data is any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. An identifiable natural person is one who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name, an identification number, location data or an online identifier.
5. sending a link to an article ("Send as e-mail")
You can use an electronic form to send a link to an article on the website, possibly supplemented by a personal message, to a third party in order to draw their attention to the article. Data provided by you, such as the e-mail address of the user and the e-mail address of the recipient and the title and link of the article, are stored at the Hessian Centre for Data Processing in order to be able to clarify unauthorised use or prevent misuse and are automatically deleted seven days after the end of access.
6. transfer of data to a social network
On the administration portal website, you can activate data feeds and also use a button to recommend content from the website in your social network profile. In both cases, user data such as the IP address is also transmitted to the social network. However, this only happens after the user has given their (one-off) express consent when activating this function. Thereafter, data is transmitted to the social network every time the website is used without further notice.
No data is stored by the website operator. The user can deactivate the function at any time and thus prevent further data transmission.
7. provision of integrated videos
Videos hosted on YouTube are integrated on the website. When the page on which the video is embedded is accessed, user data such as the IP address is transmitted to YouTube. However, the data will only be passed on to YouTube with the express consent of the user.
No data is stored by the operator of the website. The user can deactivate the function at any time and thus prevent further data transmission.
8. usage data
Each time an Internet file is requested, the following access data is stored at the Hessian Centre for Data Processing (HZD) for statistical analyses and functional purposes by employees of the state administration or the HZD:
- the page from which the file was requested,
- the name of the requested file
- the date and time of the request
- the amount of data transferred,
- the access status (file transferred, file not found, etc.),
- the type of access (GET, POST),
- the description of the browser or operating system used
- the IP address of the requesting computer,
- the session ID
- Functional cookies
For reasons of data security, i.e. to be able to clarify unauthorised access or prevent misuse of the website, the full IP address of the requesting computer is recorded, stored and automatically deleted seven days after the end of access.
Before the access data is stored for statistical evaluation, the IP address of the requesting computer is anonymised.
Functional cookies or JAVA applets may be used on the state government's website. The use of these functionalities can be switched off by the respective user through the settings of the browser programme.
Your data will not be transferred to third countries. Automated decision-making does not take place.
Your rights
As a user of our website, you have various rights under the General Data Protection Regulation and the Hessian Data Protection and Freedom of Information Act, which arise in particular from Art. 15 to 18, 21 GDPR and §§ 52 and 53 HDSIG:
1. right to information
You can request information about your personal data processed by us in accordance with Art. 15 GDPR or Section 52 HDSIG. In your request for information, you should specify your request in order to make it easier for us to compile the necessary data. Please note that your right to information is restricted by the provisions of Section 24 (2), Section 26 (2) and Section 33 HDSIG and Section 52 (2) to (5) HDSIG.
2. right to rectification
Ifthe information concerning you is not (or no longer) correct, you can request a correction in accordance with Art. 16 GDPR or Section 53 HDSIG. If your data is incomplete, you can request that it be completed.
3. right to erasure
Underthe conditions of Art. 17 GDPR and Sections 34 and 53 HDSIG, you can request the erasure of your personal data. Your right to erasure depends, among other things, on whether the data concerning you is still required by us to fulfil our legal tasks.
4. right to restriction of processing
Withinthe framework of the provisions of Art. 18 GDPR and Section 53 HDSIG, you have the right to request that the processing of data concerning you be restricted.
5. right to object
According toArt. 21 GDPR, you have the right to object to the processing of data concerning you at any time for reasons arising from your particular situation. However, we cannot always comply with this, e.g. if a legal provision obliges us to process data within the meaning of Section 35 HDSIG as part of our official task fulfilment.
6. right to lodge a complaint
If you are of the opinion that we have not complied with data protection regulations when processing your data, you can lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.
